I'd like to see periodic cross-posts between two separate lists. I'd like to clarify my suggestion - I agree that cohousing-l should remain focused on cohousing, but that folks living in other kinds of intentional community would be encouraged to contribute their ideas on ways to solve cohousing problems, enhance community feeling, resolve conflicts, run more effective meetings etc. I don't think it would be desireable to talk about things that are completely irrelevant to cohousing. (Though, I'm not sure what about other communities is *completely* irrelevant.) I see some coho sites evolving to where they have more co-operative aspects and some older communities evolving to more closely resemble cohousing. There is an amazing continuum of community possibilities to choose from the most individualistic to the most communal. The 500 communities in the FIC Directory represent amazing diversity, as has been noted previously. Christina, I know that information overload can be daunting, but I think hearing diverse perspectives is highly important. We all just need to develop our scanning and deleting proficiency, sigh. So far I believe 6 people (some emailed me directly) favor hearing more from non-cohousing community folks and 2 opposed or had reservations. Any more votes out there? Clarification: I don't believe there is a list server for Fellowship of Intentional Communities, right, Elph? Elph and friends maintain an excellent WWW Web page that he's posted info about previously.
