Ian Higginbottom IAN_HIG [at] ANTDIV.GOV.AU is the author of the message below but due to a listserv problem it was posted by the COHOUSING-L sysop (Fred). **************** FORWARDED MESSAGE FOLLOWS ********************* Cascade Cohousing is located in a suburban street where somewhere near 50% of the houses near use have one or more dogs. In general they do not roam and are kept in their yards. Some of those yards back onto us. Just walking down the street or through our car park that is close to a house with dogs, sets the dogs barking. If you are unlucky (the moon is right?) a chorus of dog barks will ripple down the street as the dogs set each other off. It can be very noisey (thank goodness for double glazing). I wonder what it would be like if we had a number of dogs in our own back yards, then I fear I would only have to walk out to my own backyard to set off a dog. I like dogs and do hope we have one on site, but I am concerned that more than that could be terrible judging by our neighbours dogs. Ian Higginbottom
