I spent several hours this last weekend talking with the woman who is the
centre of major controversy at Ft. Hood. She's the High Priestess of a
Wiccan coven there and holds open circles on a regular basis. She has put
up with huge amounts of crap because of her beliefs.

Am I hesitant to get involved with some cohousing groups because of my
beliefs? Yep, you bet. I wonder how many people here harbour the fear
that witches sacrifice babies? Sixty years ago, the same sort of
misinformation was spread about Jews. Seems kinda silly in today's world
doesn't it? I can't say I particularly enjoy living my life in the "broom
closet", but that's what I'm doing most of the time.

Many of the same arguments go for "poly" folks. In general, the poly
people I know are some of the nicest, most caring people around. They're
also from all walk of life, computer folks, actors, musicians, biologists,
physicists, music teachers, engineers, nurses, social workers, counselors,
etc.

It saddens me to hear of people who believe it is impossible to love more
than one person at a time, what a barren world they must live in.
