I echo the last few posts. I never thought about dangerous scenarios (we always had a phone) but sometimes people suggest getting rid of it. It is very useful to be able to call the cooks when you are delayed , or call those in the common spaces. Since we also have 2 small homes *In* the common part of our "Big House", there is some nuisance factor, for them, but it seems a necessity to be able to call people in the Common Space. We have it set to roll over to voice mail if not answered, and those who don't want to answer, don't. And it's also useful to be able to call out, or remind someone of a meeting, etc. Judy Judy Baxter, Monterey Cohousing Community,(MoCoCo) Twin Cities Area, Mpls.,MN -- e-mail: baxter [at] epi.umn.edu 15 homes - 7 new townhomes plus 8 coop apartments in the Mansion (a rehab Georgian building) (built as a retirement home in 1924 -) which also serves as our Common House ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Two (3 BR +) townhomes for sale - see our web page ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Voice Mail for Monterey Cohousing - 612-930-7554 web page: http://www.jimn.org/mococo/
