A ratio is a division problem. 

25/35=~.714 adults per household

43/53=~.811

So you have a slightly higher ratio of adults to households. However, at the
Madison, WI group, the ratio is 17/28=~.607, so they have fewer adults per
household. This doesn't take children into account at all.

So your group, Sharon, doesn't seem have more single people than the rest of
this small sample.
