Going Solar?

Hi all,

Does anyone have experience they'd be willing to share on using solar power in coho? About 10 of our households share a continuous, one block long sunny roof with the common house, and so we've begun discussing installing solar across the whole thing and piping it into the common house's electrical circuit, which would almost certainly 'run the meter backwards' and generate a revenue stream.

But what we know at this point is massively outweighed by what we don't know. We need to come up to speed on the technology, costs, financing options, projected break-even point, and countless other things. If anyone can offer some advice or referrals, feel free to either contact me directly (phil [at] compumentor.org) or send general impressions to the list.

Best wishes,

Phil Ferrante-Roseberry at Swan's Market Cohousing in Oakland, CA, where we recently celebrated our first anniversary of move-in!!!
