This old English teacher has finally stopped flinching when, upon coming to consensus/reaching consensus, something is referred to as consensed upon. Well, I only flinch a little. But I can't EVER imagine getting used to the verb "to liaise" ! On the Great Peace March people would talk about how one group should "liaise" with another on a matter: arrrgh! And I do know that language evolves. Much of what we now consider Proper English made people flinch and criticize in Shakespeare's day. So some day it may be altogether acceptable educated speech to say " If I was you, I would of liaised with the menu committee before consensing on cold-slaw for dinner"!
