Liz:

I'm with you on the total inappropriateness of George's last post, and as
someone who often gets fed up with the traditional Lefty "let's all be
nice all the time" mentality, I validate your decision to call a spade a
spade.  The only problem I foresee is that George may now declare himself
a victim of the Big Bad Liz, and may come to the list with his wounded
outrage.  If he does so, and you decide to tear him the new one he
probably deserves, I'd really appreciate it if you'd do it off-list.  This
sounds like the kind of guy who only really loves to perform if there's an
audience, and I figure he's less likely to make a nuisance of himself if
he thinks you're the only one listening. 

BTW, is the Cohousing-L moderated?
