I, on the other hand, use my oven all the time (cornbread, biscuits, and I
don't like how things cook in the microwave) and often get frustrated
because four eyes on the stove aren't enough. Unless it was OK (and
convenient) for me to use the common house kitchen EVERY time I wanted to
make cornbread or had guests, that design definitely would not work for
me. I also know plenty of people who use their oven quite a lot, so making
the assertion that "most people" don't use their oven is a bit excessive.
