Fred -------------------- FORWARDED MESSAGE FOLLOWS -------------------- Update for Colorado Springs (Colorado) Cohousing Community at Casa Verde Commons. (which has 10 openings) (Second half of message is promo for location...) Construction on our community began earlier this year and our Craftsmen-style Common House was the first to be completed. We will be dedicating our Common House later this month (October 20) from 4:00 to 6:00 pm for the public and having a private ceremony from 3:00 to 4:00pm. We would not be where we are now if not for our co-developers, Wonderland Hill Development Company of Boulder, Colorado. We are building 26 Victorian-style duplexes and 8 Four-square homes designed by Matt Worswick who lives in Harmony Village in Golden, Colorado (which he also designed). Our first community members will be able to move into their homes in mid-November while construction continues on the remaining homes scheduled for completion in early February next year. Our community fills 4 acres in an older neighborhood a mile and a half north of a vibrant downtown Colorado Springs; close to excellent public schools, Colorado College, Fine Arts Center, public golf course, public parks and biking/walking trails, and shopping. It's also convenient to two public bus lines. The neighborhood maintains high property value with a lot of retro-upgrading going on. Pikes Peak and Pikes Peak National Forest are less than 10 miles to the west. Our hydronic-heated Common House has pride of place in our community with two guest rooms, multi-purpose room, office, sitting room, kids' playroom, two-story high dining room and fully equipped kitchen. Our homes will be Green-Built, and have five-star Energy-Star ratings and solar access rough-ins.Our community has space for a community vegetable garden, children's playground, workshop, and common lawn. We have 10 homes unsold at this time. Two or three bedrooms in three floor plans, ranging from1,650 to 2,467 square feet including full basements with large windows and 9-foot ceilings. Please visit our Web site at www.ColoSpringsCohousing.com for more information. Colorado Springs Cohousing Community invites you... Colorado Springs (a city of around half a million friendly folks) is located 60 miles south of Denver, Colorado, on the plains adjacent to the foothills of the Rocky Mountains -- where the plains sweep for hundreds of miles across Kansas and eastern Colorado only to bump up against the Rocky Mountains. Outdoor recreation is right out the door with bike paths and trails. Skiing, kayaking, rock climbing, hiking, backpacking, fly-fishing, horse-riding. Garden of the Gods, Pkes Peak, Royal Gorge, Breckenridge, South Park, Mesa Verde. Our climate is high-desert (bugs are few and far between) -- we're at 6, 000 feet elevation -- with summer temperatures seldom exceeding 95 degrees F at the high end. and winter temperatures seldom exceeding 10 degrees F at the low end. Snowfall can be anything from a dusting to 3 feet from a single storm, but the snow melts quickly in the winter sunshine. And the sun shines 360 days of the year here. A beautiful place with beautiful people. Come visit and you'll fall in love with our state, our city, maybe our cohousing community which is looking for members to complete our community! www.ColoSpringsCohousing.com Best regards, Louise Conner Colorado Springs Cohousing Community at Casa Verde Commons / Communications & Marketing "Helping business use the power of the written word" 2114 Wynkoop Drive Colorado Springs, CO 80909 719-597-5407 719-380-0328 (fax) lc [at] EmpireDI.com _______________________________________________ Cohousing-L mailing list Cohousing-L [at] cohousing.org Unsubscribe and other info: http://www.communityforum.net/mailman/listinfo/cohousing-l
