Cohousing Co-operative in Hobart, Tasmania, Australia is a non-profit
organisation.  It is one of eight housing co-operatives in the state but the
only cohousing. None of the others is co-located. 

A high proportion of Danish Cohousing established since the legislation came
in in 1981, is on a 'co-operative' model, designed to keep the housing
affordable.  However for the most part it appears to be available to middle
income earners or above, or to older pensioner homeowners who have the
assets to buy in.

The Goodenough Community has long been a non-residential community in
Seattle. They are now building a 20 unit residential community with a
community center - Ravenna Commons.  It will be organized as a coop.  Tho
they may not use the term "cohousing" to describe Ravenna Commons it
sounds like it would fall within my definition of cohousing ( with other
special characteristics also).  The units will be relatively small and
therefore presumably relatively low in cost.
