Here at Eno Commons, we have a notification list but we have not sold any houses through that list. I suspect that those on the notification are waiting for a larger House B to become available rather than the smaller House A that have been offered for sale. We have no restriction on who the seller sells to. However, as the folks who bought became aware of the community through our web site, this becomes a self-selecting process. I am not stating that our way is the best for everyone but it seems to work for us. -Robert Heinich Eno Commons Cohousing Neighborhood Durham, NC On Sun, 2 May 2004 12:16:18 -0400 Dave & Diane <coho [at] theworld.com> writes: > I would think that the opposite would hold true: that a cohousing > community with no waitlist policy would become less desirable over > time > because people with no interest in working together as part of a > community would simply buy the unit for it common amenities and the > > spirit of group cooperation would be lost over time. > > Also, are there any groups out there that insist that the buyer come > > from the waitlist even if they cannot meet the seller's price?
