My understanding is that the way you get a high ranking on Google is by 
having lots of other sites that link to you.  It also makes a difference 
where in the site their link is--if it's on their homepage, that does you 
more good than if it's 3 levels in.  Also i think it makes a difference 
whether the sites linking to you are themselves highly ranked sites, but 
that doesn't make as much difference as one might think, which has given 
rise to some pretty funny spoofs at times (because people can deliberately 
manipulate the rankings).  So probably the easiest thing you could do to 
raise your ranking would be getting a bunch of your members to link to the 
site.
