Greetings to Tom and Peggy on Madison Square in Philadelphia. I’ve often looked at Madison Square - or the similar St. Alban’s Place nearby (location of the Harrison Ford character’s home in the movie “The Sixth Sense”) - as having great potential for urban co-housing. But it seems to me that houses on either block only come on the market occasionally (unless I’m mistaken) and it would take quite awhile to acquire enough of them to make a viable co-housing community possible. I’m a veteran of several earlier attempts at co-housing in Philadelphia (going back to 1994) and would be happy to be a resource. Currently my wife and I settle for a wonderful “co-yarding” community in Philadelphia, where six row houses share a common back yard and maintain it cooperatively. — Blaise Tobia
