Cohousing-L Mailing List: Punctuation and readability

In past years I posted more often on this listserv.  So this morning I FORGOT 
that I used to go through what I had written to remove every apostrophe and 
quote marks, to avoid the bizarre ?marks that replace them.  Neil and Fred, Is 
it really impossible to fix this? It is kinda crazy in 2023 to have a listserv 
that cannot do punctuation.  (I just went through this and deleted my automatic 
contractions.)

On another note.  Imagine, everyone, how much better and more readable this 
listserv would be if everyone cut their tails, ie removed all the previous 
quoted text below their post.  It only takes a moment, even from your phone.  
Reminders are posted regularly on this, including recently, and yet it keeps 
happening.  Why not pause and pay attention to this?  I know many have quit 
this listserv for just this reason.  We can do this.
