Alan: When we built in 2007-8, each unit in the 2 new buildings (we have 8 other buildings on our site) had standard appliances, paint color, thru wall a/c, etc. the owner could make changes with the Get Outlook for iOS<https://aka.ms/o0ukef> ________________________________ From: Cohousing-L <cohousing-l-bounces+kcarlson2=wisc.edu [at] cohousing.org> on behalf of Chapel, Thomas (CDC/NCIPC/DOP) via Cohousing-L <cohousing-l [at] cohousing.org> Sent: Friday, September 6, 2024 7:48:50 AM To: cohousing-l [at] cohousing.org <cohousing-l [at] cohousing.org> Cc: Chapel, Thomas (CDC/NCIPC/DOP) <tkc4 [at] cdc.gov> Subject: Re: [C-L]_ Selection of cohousing finishings To keep the cost down, the builder and some of us came up with a very limited selection of finishes---I recall for instance a single paint color in all the houses. Ha. The builder as the time for finishing got close did a lot of side deals with individual owners to upgrade some things. Like one person got a fireplace, think we got a choice to not do carpet but do laminate flooring on first floor. And then a lot of people lived with the uniform color in the beginning but then re-painted. We did it within the first year I think. The outdoor colors I don't recall. Except that we did a lot of polling of the community after deciding which blocks of houses would get different colors. I do recall that we ended up repainting at least one block when the color--once it went up--looked way different than on the patch. I THINK we, not the builder, absorbed the cost of repainting since it was OUR paint choice we didn't like -----Original Message----- From: Cohousing-L <cohousing-l-bounces+tchapel=cdc.gov [at] cohousing.org> On Behalf Of Alan Friedlob Sent: Thursday, September 5, 2024 9:28 PM To: cohousing-L [at] cohousing.org Subject: [C-L]_ Selection of cohousing finishings CAUTION: This email originated from outside of the organization.
