I’ve been exploring cohousing for decades and been on this list for
many years. I finally stopped actively exploring, and read the mail
less often, as I realize most cohousing communities couldn’t
accommodate possible frailty of aging. I am now 76, and facing more
health issues, and fewer independent transportation options, and
although I still anticipate being able to contribute in many ways, I
am looking for my forever home and don’t see that that would be
assured in most cohousing situations. Although I haven’t read every
message lately, it’s been interesting to see how representatives of
various communities respond to this question. And sadly has reinforced
my feeling that cohousing is no longer an option for me.

(PS It’s helpful when people put not only the name but the location
of their community in their signature line.)

Best,

Kate C
