Hi Ann,
I'd say the community is in the later beginning stage.
They are getting really serious about land- hope to buy in
the fall, we are also planning a public event to invite
more folks in september. They are thinking of a 12-20
household community...we'll see. Homer is still a small
town. The land they are looking at is right in town but I'd
still call it pretty rural. If you are really interested
in joining the contact is Chris Laing, she could answer
more questions for you, 907 235 7475. evenings are best to
call.
right now there are only 4 really committed families, 2
with kids in their early twenties, moved out already and 2
families with young kids, 2, 4, and 5. they are looking
for folks of all ages.
as for me, I am working as a intern for them, pretty much
reasearching anything they need looked into. I just
graduated from college with a degree in environmental
engineering and I really want to work in community
development. This has been a great opportunity.
are you living in cohousing right now?
have you lived in alaska?
I can answer any more questions you have.
take care
Jessica
