It's been interesting to see how many cohousing groups supervise their childdren in the common house. At Bellingham Cohousing our younger kids are unsupervised in the common house. I am grateful to have my daughter be able to go to the kid's room and play when I'm busy. I can look out my kitchen window to check on her. We have a teen room that has been unsupervised, but we are having trouble with vandalism and will have to rethink our policy. One idea is to turn it into a community activity room. It is above the workshop, so we probably unwisely gave the teens less supervision than they needed. I don't know of any other unsupervised teen space in town. Kate N. Nichols
