Those interested in more details might want to look into the Mondragón system
and other forms of "caring capitalism." As the form of capitalism that has
become increasingly commonplace in the US and other parts of the world
increase, and as people increasingly want more, not less control over their own
lives and destinies, alternatives to fill the voids thus created may yet feed a
transformative trend toward more cooperation and responsibility that actually
begins to reflect, for example, the increasingly abandoned core values of
mutualism like those upon which this country was supposedly founded.

Authoritarian personalities always will seek (ironically) to manipulate and to
be manipulated, again ironically characteristic of both high ambition and lazy
subordination.

I'm not sure why this stalls the election. Unions want secret ballots and in
some states the election is not legal if the ballots are not secret. The
intimidation is huge if management can determine who voted for the union and
who against. There are good procedures for determining that a vote has been
legally cast and counted.

In The Netherlands where unions are mandatory, sociocratic, dynamically
governed businesses are exempt because the workers are better protected than
with a union. They become part of the decision-making and budget process. All
workers receive both market rate wages and what we call bonuses that are based
on company profits.
