We had trouble with bullying at our community meetings such as yelling,
interrupting, belittling, dominating the conversation. Many people were
afraid to participate in the meetings.

The cure for us was a focus on facilitation skills. Previously, all members
were expected to take turns facilitating meetings. Then we changed to using
2 trained facilitators at each meeting. All members were invited to
participate in a rigorous facilitator training. Those who completed the
training became our Facilitator Team. It has made all the difference.
Everyone can now trust that they will be safe to participate in meetings.
