I think this is a fine idea. It has the additional advantage of
providing a strategy for keeping the email traffic levels on the main
list manageable as interest in cohousing grows, and the number of
participants in the list increases.  (The other strategy for doing that
would be to suppress an increasingly large percentage of postings to the
list.)

To make this idea of concentric lists work well, there would still need
to be some discussion (so that there will be some common understanding)
about the parameters and boundaries for the Cohousing-L list. At least,
it seems so to me.
