Our common house is well used and for all sorts of events. Personally I
LOVE it that way. Occasionally I hear complaints from folks who feel there
are too many "outside" events.

Pioneer Valley maintains a calendar in the common house where we sign out
different parts of the CH on a first-come-first-serve basis, for all events.
If someone is proposing a weekend long workshop, or the like, they usually
run it through our email correspondence first to see if there are conflicts
or objections. The only real limitation is that we have a "sponsor" from
the community or associate membership.

We have a recommended fee schedule based on the sponsors membership and the
size of the event. Weekend workshops might bring in a couple hundred
dollars. Family birthday parties and such don't cost a thing!

Subject: [C-L]_ Common House Reservations

Hello Folks

We here at Camelot cohousing have been discussing the future system of
common house reservations. We will have multiple rooms in our common
house and we may consider allowing folks to reserve rooms for non coho
functions. We were wondering, do other cohousers allow folks to
reserve the whole common house for non community events? If you do,
how does that work for you?

Thanks a bunch
Deirdre
