RoseWind Cohousing, Port Townsend WA

No common guest room, but frequent use of common house for events.
Sponsorship: A member must sign up, ideally signing the contract form which specifies some details of the event and summarizes the house rules and that the sponsor needs to be there all the time, set up through clean up and is the ultimately responsible party.

Personal Socials are such as birthday party, family reunion, cast party.
Sponsored Events are usually for some organization or group that would normally have to rent a space somewhere else: annual dinner, peace movement group, Audubon group, rehearsal.

General rules: Priority to any RoseWind events, regularly scheduled or special events. Fill out a form and write it on the CH bulletin board wall calendar with time frame and contact person. If it's more than a weekend or one day event, it needs clearance from the community. So my chorus group meets every Tuesday evening, after first notifying the community of our intention and soliciting any concerns (one evening was a conflict which we resolved by meeting elsewhere that time).

There is a small fee collected to help defray utility and maintenance costs. No alcohol left unattended; any leftover gets taken home (ditto for community meals or events).

No event is guaranteed total privacy, as our mailboxes are in the foyer, and sometimes people need to drop something off to the kitchen or such. But if there is a meditation retreat or such, we give notice and people do their best not to disturb it.
