Fellow Cohousers, My experience has been that living with diversity often means living with some level of discomfort. Those who are different than me (in any way, shape, form, or color) will often say, do, feel, express, or act differently than I do. Thick skin helps. The mere fact that my reporting of what others said has caused some on this list any discomfort, hurt, anguish, pain, or consternation is something we can all look at. My experience is diversity is hard and we can expect it to cause some level of distress as we strive to make it happen. For those who felt hurt by my post, again I apologize. I feel no need for your forgiveness just your compassion. Now let go make our communities as diverse as we can tolerate!
